Description:

Participation in the Virtual Poster Symposium is an online event for students enrolled in Introduction to Environmental Science (ENR2100). Students who enroll in ENR2100 at OSU are given the opportunity to participate in a scientific poster session and experience the process of peer review. Students share their completed poster and an audio or video clip of their poster presentation with their peers. Posters focus on recent research that has been conducted in areas such as air pollution, biodiversity, climate change, coal, fresh water resources, food production, ecosystem preservation, energy production, evolution, fisheries, forestry, fossil fuels, mining, non-renewable energy, natural gas, nuclear power, petroleum, renewable energy, sustainability, urbanization, and water pollution.

Value of the Badge:

Earning the Virtual Poster Symposium badge indicates a student has successfully completed the requirements of the course assignment including evaluation of recent research on an environmental topic, submission of a research abstract, the process of poster presentation and peer review.

Badge Criteria:

  1. Submit research abstract, poster and audio or video file for presentation.
  2. Present research in poster format to peers and instructors for review.
